During the lockdown phase, and while waiting for Mandra Chef on Tour to start back up, at Mandrarossa we didn’t want to stop our project of a format dedicated to the perfect pairing between our wines and the best signature dishes, so we decided to “heat up the stoves” with Mandra Chef Online.
An engaging challenge in episodes, seeking the best pairing between Mandrarossa wines and dishes suggested and prepared by two exceptional testimonials: Valeria Raciti, winner of MasterChef 2018 and Andrea Lo Cicero, former captain of the Italian national rugby team and Sky tv host.
During lockdown, we reached Italians in their homes with the first episode of Mandra Chef Online, aired on Wednesday May 6th, 2020 at 6PM live on our Facebook page.
The judge of the “social challenge” was the audience, who was given the difficult task, after watching the preparations, of choosing which of the suggested dishes paired better with the wine featured in the episode. Voting was simple: by clicking on a heart, the vote would be casted for the pairing suggested by Valeria, while clicking on the thumbs up or the “wow” emoji would assign the vote to Andrea’s pairing.
