Passed with flying colours: the Frappato Costadune captivates Decanter for its fresh and intriguing bouquet

The fruity red conquers a magnificent 90/100

"From vineyards in Menfi in the southwest of Sicily, this is a fragrant Frappato, full of pure strowberry and cherry on the nose and more juicy red fruits on a grainy, textured palate. Has a gentle undertow of acidity and light herbal touches. Beautiful. JB. Alc 13% "

Accompanied by these notes, the Frappato Mandrarossa Costadune, Terre Siciliane IGT 2018, earns a magnificent 90/100 with an extensive evaluation published in the July issue of Decanter signed by James Button, editor for Italy of the renowned magazine.

A flattering recognition accepted by Mandrarossa mostly because it rewards a wine with a young character, intriguing for its marked fruity hints of black cherry and pomegranate. A red that should be served chilled, named from the Sicilian dialect term “frappatu”, which describes the fruity fragrance that distinguishes in an unmistakable way the bouquet of the wines produced from this variety.

Recognizable for its ruby-red colour with shades of purple, perfectly pairs with fish, grilled chicken and fish soups and stands out for its good persistence.

A wine that can be appreciated even in the summer, which will seduce with its freshness and its charming aroma.
